What is stored, exactly

One item, in your browser's local storage:

• Name: je-cookie-consent
• Contents: which categories you accepted, plus the moment you made that choice
• Where: in your own browser, not on our server — so it is not sent along with your visits
• How long: until you clear it yourself, or until the categories change and we ask again

Why this still falls under the cookie rules

Technically this is not a cookie but local storage. Legally that makes no difference: Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act covers anything placed on or read from your device. Remembering your choice needs no consent — without that storage we would have to ask the question again on every visit.

The categories in the banner

Necessary is always on and currently covers nothing more than remembering your choice. Statistics and marketing are off by default and are not in use either: there is no measurement or advertising script on this website at all. If we add statistics later, it will happen only after you have given permission.

What does not happen

There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel and no other tracking script. The fonts are served from our own server, so your browser requests nothing from Google Fonts. The videos on the page are our own files rather than embedded players, so nothing is recorded about you there either. The links to Instagram are ordinary links: nothing loads from Instagram until you click one yourself.

Changing your choice

You can do that at any time, through the button below or through 'Cookie preferences' at the bottom of every page. You can also use your browser's site settings to clear local storage; the banner will simply appear again on your next visit.

Server logs

Separately from your browser, the web server keeps technical visit data, including your IP address. That happens on every website and is unrelated to cookies or consent; it is needed to run the site and to spot abuse. The privacy statement says more about it.
